The St. Louis region is made up of 16 different counties and is home to nearly 3 million people. The region stretches into Missouri as well as Illinois and includes parts of the Missouri and the mighty Mississippi Rivers.

The counties include Lincoln, Warren, St. Charles, Franklin, Washington, Jefferson, St. Louis, and St. Louis City in Missouri and Calhoun, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Bond, Clinton, St. Clair, and Monroe counties in Illinois.

The 16 counties making up the St. Louis region range from metropolitan areas to suburbs and agricultural and rural areas. Being such a diverse area the region has a lot of variety in cultural as well as recreational activities and work opportunities.
